Currently working as an ICT Support Technician at St. Peter's Academy, Fenton Manor UK.

At lunchtime I taught Pico8 and Godot. Currently creating a game in Godot.

Former employment

2023 -- 2024 employed at Geeks on Wheels there wasn't much time for engineering; skateboarding mags were created for the skateboard industry, see below.

2022 -- Worked for Tattoo World as a Blockchain Developer

2022 Contract Work: Created an NFT Marketplace to create and sell NFTs. I used JavaScript and Solidity for a small startup business.

End result: User could upload pics, connect to Metamask and check the files turned unique via Etherscan, they then could be sold.

My blockchain work: Blockchain Marketplace

2022 Worked for Manaaki: consulted with small businesses via recommending and demonstrating the latest online software to help grow their businesses.

2021: Taught Python on YouTube for people interested in programming, via a personalised 2D-game.

Created a Python game: youtube lessons

Work and Projects Summary

Late 2024 to current

ICT Support Technician at St. Peter's Academy, Fenton Manor UK (Fulltime)

Develop and maintain an Enrolment System in Python (private repo)

2023 and 2024

IT Technician at Geeks on Wheels NZ (Fulltime)

Engineered Skateboard Mags and an e-commerce website skateboardware.com -- Not enough funding to keep this going.

2021 -- 2022

Blockchain dev.: Developing an NFT project using Ethereum's programming language Solidity -- Creating smart-contracts.

2020 -- 2021

Taught how to create a 2D-game (Brickbuster) using Python, to teach some inportant programming concepts.

Moving down to Educational Experience. Web development from scrath to ReactJS.

From my CS degree, I was fortunate to learn ASP.NET C#, Node, REST, APIs, Http requests, JSON; with databases, PHP, SQL, WAMP, SQL Server, NoSQL, and Oracle, and then the ReactJS library. The knowledge gained gave me a good understanding of web development and its dependences. When a JS framework breaks from a dependency update, it becomes frustrating having to fix something from not knowing my website is down. This portfolio is written in JS, CSS, HTML and only relies on the Github pages server, it has lasted since university days and doesnot rely on a framework.

Luke's Language Learning App: A fullstack app using C# OOP and abstraction.

Using C# and Universal Windows Platform (UWP) to make a language learning interactive app. Inheritance and encapsulation used. Code/App on GitHub

(Cluttered screenshot, the classes were not designed to run everything at once there are different menus if you download from Github.)

I am very happy with my employment position, however if your reading this and looking for a senior engineer, and think I might be able to help parttime on weekends, send an email.

Moving on to Unreal using blueprints

via GIPHY

During the last computer science year Covid hit. I used the time to create 2 horizontal sliced Unreal games. One was uploaded to Mega. linked via Github. The other is on a computer in NZ; I'm in the UK now.

2020
Luke's Ultimate Roll a Ball demo: Rollaverse another Unity game.

2018 -- 2019

Web Development outside of university

These websites are no longer avaliable but thought I would save some pics and links here

Work place settings, websites can be maintained however as a solo developer, my blog style websites are now deprecated, SEO and PPC cost too much, mainstream website builders EG GoDaddy pay to take index prioity. From the experience I've learnt, anyone wanting to host their domain, have a mainstream website built-site and link it to your serverside site until you get enough traffic. Also some internet providers donot allow hosting. If you enjoy programming from a JS framework, I recommend Vercel, it's what I used for the blockchain market place site. The other sites were: lukeslanguagelearning and skateboardware.

... Blueprint Unreal video from YouTube relinked.

The other site was devoted to the local skate community and promoted Skateboard Mags for skateboard wheels; my invention never took off; needed funding for nylon/carbonfibre injection in bulk.

The mags were lite, strong, and protected the bearings from dust and water, they also helped with primoslides, and protected the nuts. -- skating in the Nationals with them created alot of interest. I know skate stores that would buy them ... need an investor. The plastic injection is a few thousand dollars.

Below, the prototype and the final product (compressed images).

The rest of the Portfolio is just certificates, I'd like to sum-up by saying, I've been playing, collecting, and designing apps and games since the Amiga500 (used BASIC, AMOS, Dpaint etc) and grewup on Sega which I still have and am lucky to live in those times. No subscriptions, no internet, I had a great childhood. Please feel free to send the uniform resource locator to anyone who may feel interested. It's also public on LinkedIn.
